let me tell you a similar story that happened 25 years ago.
I changed my job Sept of 2000, however after I left, I noticed payroll kept coming into my bank account and 401K kept getting new contributions. I thought things will stop but it was almost Jan the payroll check just kept coming in twice a a month. I ended calling the payroll and HR called back immediately, begging me to return the money. Apparently the direct deposit agreement I signed only allow them paying me but they can’t take money out of my bank account. HR lady was almost crying and faxed me document for me to sign. I had no intention to keep the money so I signed, allowing them to rollback those financial transaction, which they did in a week or two. Of course they also rolled back the 401K transaction eventually in March of 2001 which really ticked me. The contribution totaled 6K in last 3 month of 2000 but in March 2001 the market tanked so 6K became 2K but they had the nerve to take back the whole 6K.
tell them to pound sand, your time is worth more. If you do decide to do them a favor, first make sure you don’t get short changed and have them sign it first.

今天签的direct deposit agreement已经堵上了，都有条款允许公司取回错发的多余工资。但是401k不好说，楼主应该读一下当年入职时的条款。
这种情况有义务回复吗？他们找money collector再说吧。
